Weight Loss Journey

Well, I’ve finally decided to take the journey of bariatric surgery. I’ve been to my hospital’s information session and had my primary doctor refer me for appointments to all my other specialized appointments for a cardiologist, a pulmonary specialist, a psychiatric consult, and a dietician.

I am so looking forward to this. It is my tool for the battle I’ve fought against my weight all these years. If anyone out there has tips and guidelines they could share with me, I’d appreciate it. I’d really like ideas on exercise, going vegetarian and other things like that. Thanks for letting me share.

My favorite poem

Blind
By Langston Hughes

I am blind.
I cannot see.
Color is no bar to me.
I know neither
Black nor white.
I walk in night.
Yet it seems I see mankind
More tortured than the blind.
Can it be that those who know
Sight are often doomed to woe?
Or is it that, seeing.
They never see
With the infinite eyes
Of one like me?

The Decade’s 25 Biggest Tech Flops – MSN Tech & Gadgets – Slide Shows – Products – 10

I live in Hartford, CT and the people that take care of the parking meters use them to get around the city. Or at least they  used to. We now have electronic meters that use credit cards and cash. They are spaced a little farther apart then the meters were, but they look much better then the meters did.
